FCSO winter concert triumph

Fortismere Community Symphony Orchestra gave its winter concert on Saturday. The orchestra performed Rachmaninoff ’s mighty Symphony Number 2, along with Beethoven’s Triple Concerto with the Fidelio Trio playing the solos and Glinka’s “Ruslan and Ludmilla” Overture. It was one of the orchestra’s more challenging programmes, the Rachmaninoff demanding a massive brass section alongside four double basses - a record for the orchestra. It was a great evening and we are grateful to everyone who came. Next term the orchestra will be playing Sibelius’Violin Concerto with soloist Kamila Bydlowska, Vaughan-Williams’ “London” symphony and the world premier of Rohan Stephenson (Fortismere parent!) ‘s “Cinematic March”.
